| One who suffers from unrequited love might appear to be calm as this poem. However if the love was real, it should be one of the most devastating experiences in one's life. How can this poem even remotely represent the feelings of one who is suffering from unrequited love? That simile? Feels like a sore thumb that was stuck in to invent artistic merit in an otherwise elementary (and colloquial) poem. |

| i was looking for something to send to a friend to cheer her up a little while at the same time i sometimes also feel the pain of 'unrequitted love'. it is acutally interesting that many people feel the same but rarely express what they really feel. we never know when this pain stops and starts. love has strange habits: it can hurt while we're in love or hurt us when ones love is not being returned. a true poem that sincerely expresses what many of us feel some times! |
